Javier Gomez

Agricultural Program Coordinator

Javier Gomez is a Rancher and Farmer from the North coast of California. He has raised beef and produced thousands of lbs of beef  for both Del Norte and Humboldt County. 

Through running his own business for ten years and ranching in our local community he has a thorough understanding of our local food economy and what both consumers and producers need in our unique part of the north coast. 

Working within the food system allows for the realistic knowledge of the needs within our community which in turn leads to the desire to carry out long term and sustainable projects for our local food system. 

Community members need one another, the drive to provide food for our local community can only be supported by a community who is educated about the importance of a local food system, local money being spent on businesses here in our counties. Local food can only thrive with local support, this is why Javier seeks to educate the support of local food systems.
